Spirit of Hven Seven Stars Phecda Single Malt Swedish Whisky 500ml

Produced by Spirit of Hven at its family-owned distillery on the Swedish island of Hven, Seven Stars No. 3 Phecda is the third release in the distillery’s Seven Stars series. This medium-peated Swedish single malt was matured in a combination of Missouri-grown American oak and Allier French oak, with the American oak contributing sweeter vanilla and toffee character while the French oak adds liquorice and peppery spice. Bottled at 45% ABV, Phecda is certified organic, non-chill filtered and naturally coloured.

Food Pairing: Smoked beef, barbecue pork, aged cheese, dark chocolate, coffee desserts, or roasted nuts with warming spices.

Tasting Notes: Full-bodied and moderately smoky, combining leather and salty liquorice with dark chocolate, roasted coffee, vanilla, pepper and savoury barbecue smoke.

Nose: Aromatic and complex, opening with leather and salty liquorice before developing pepper, barbecue smoke and fireplace notes alongside dark chocolate, coffee and vanilla.

Palate: Potent yet balanced, with gentle sweetness and bitterness accompanied by liquorice, dark chocolate, toasted oak and warming peppery spice.

Finish: Medium-long and oily, with lingering pepper, seasoned oak, liquorice and gentle smoke.

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature in a Glencairn or tulip-shaped glass; a few drops of water can help reveal additional vanilla, chocolate, liquorice and smoky character.
