Spirit of Hven Seven Stars Merak Single Malt Swedish Whisky 500ml

Produced by Spirit of Hven at its small family-owned distillery on the island of Hven, Sweden, Seven Stars No. 2 Merak is the second release in the distillery’s Seven Stars series. This medium-smoky Swedish single malt was created from locally produced malt and matured across a combination of American, French and Spanish oak, with only 25 casks blended for the release. Bottled at 45% ABV, Merak balances soft peat smoke with liquorice, leather, floral notes, vanilla, chocolate and dried fruit.

Food Pairing: Smoked pork, grilled beef, aged cheese, dark chocolate, orange desserts, or roasted nuts with caramel and warming spices.

Tasting Notes: Rich and gently smoky, balancing liquorice and leather with floral freshness, vanilla, chocolate, herbs, dried fruit and peppery oak.

Nose: Aromatic and complex, with liquorice, leather and herbal spice joined by lingering peat smoke, orange blossom, rose petals, vanilla and dark chocolate.

Palate: Soft and rounded, developing fresh herbal spice and gentle smoke alongside fudge, vanilla, citrus and subtle liquorice.

Finish: Lingering and oily, with persistent smoke, subtle tar, spice and gentle sweetness.

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature in a Glencairn or tulip-shaped glass; a few drops of water can reveal additional sweet liquorice, dark chocolate, almond and floral character.
