Sierra Norte White Heirloom Corn Whiskey

Produced by Sierra Norte in San Agustín de las Juntas, Oaxaca, Sierra Norte White Heirloom Corn Whiskey is a small-batch, single-barrel Mexican whiskey showcasing native Oaxacan white corn. Its mashbill combines 85% heirloom white corn with 15% malted barley, which is double distilled using stainless-steel and copper pot stills before maturation in French oak wine barrels. Bottled at 45% ABV, it highlights the distinctive character of the corn through sweet grain, honey and nutty flavours balanced by toasted oak and peppery spice.

Food Pairing: Grilled pork, roasted chicken, aged cheese, toasted peanuts, caramel desserts, or corn-based dishes with mild smoky spices.

Tasting Notes: Rich and smooth, combining sweet heirloom corn and honey with dried citrus, roasted nuts, toasted oak and warming peppery spice.

Nose: Grain-forward and aromatic, with fresh corn and green corn husks accompanied by warm spices, peanuts and subtle oak.

Palate: Smooth and naturally sweet, developing sweet corn and honey alongside dried citrus peel, roasted nuts and seasoned French oak.

Finish: Toasted and warming, with charred oak, burnt toast and lingering peppercorn spice.

Serve: Enjoy neat at room temperature in a Glencairn or tulip-shaped glass, over a large cube of ice, or in whiskey-forward cocktails where its distinctive corn character can remain prominent.
