Shinobu Kihei Japanese Single Malt

Produced by Shinobu Distillery in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, Shinobu Kihei Japanese Single Malt is a bold yet balanced expression crafted by second-generation distiller Usami Tatsuya. Made entirely from malted barley, the whisky is matured in a combination of Bourbon, Sherry and Hogshead casks. Bottled at 46% ABV for the export expression, Kihei combines rich malt and sweet fruit with vanilla, peach and mango alongside dark chocolate, cacao, gentle spice, subtle smoke and seasoned oak.

Food Pairing: Grilled wagyu, roasted duck, yakitori, aged cheese, dark chocolate, or peach and almond desserts.

Tasting Notes: Rich and balanced, combining sweet malt and ripe fruit with vanilla, dark chocolate, cacao, warming spice, subtle smoke and gentle oak.

Nose: Aromatic and layered, with vanilla and peach accompanied by dark chocolate, cacao, mango and a delicate smoky character.

Palate: Rich and balanced, developing sweet fruit and malt alongside vanilla, gentle spice, seasoned oak and subtle layers of smoke.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering malt sweetness, fruit, spice and gently smoky oak.
