About the Shaw and Smith Shiraz 2013
Fragrant and refined, with blackberry, blueberry and dark cherry layered with violet, black pepper and savoury spice. The palate is medium-bodied and poised, balancing cool-climate fruit with fresh acidity, fine structured tannins and a long, peppery finish.
Food Pairing: Pair with roast lamb, grilled beef, duck, barbecue pork, mushroom dishes, grilled sausages, or mature hard cheeses.
96 Points - James Suckling
Very complex and fragrant with a wealth of cherry, blackberry and spiced-plum aromas, framed in savory, graphite and toasted brown-spice notes. The depth and smoothly fleshy feel on the palate is seductive and the core of plums and blackberries slides into the finish on a bed of fine, suavely polished tannin. Still very upbeat and fresh. Drink or hold. Screw cap.
88 Points - Wine Spectator
Bright and jazzy, with raspberry and white pepper flavors on a supple frame, finishing with snap. Drink now through 2020.
