About the Schiopetto Collio Pinot Bianco
A magnificent Northern Italian white wine displaying a brilliant, intense straw yellow color with subtle golden highlights. Masterfully produced by the iconic Schiopetto estate—the historic pioneer of modern Italian white winemaking—from low-yielding vines in the rolling hills of Capriva del Friuli, this benchmark Pinot Bianco opens with an incredibly refined and complex bouquet of golden delicious apples, ripe Williams pears, and white peach blossoms. The nuanced nose is beautifully supported by regional characteristics of wild chamomile, crushed stone, fresh thyme, and a hint of raw almond paste. On the palate, it balances a structural, medium-to-full-bodied core of orchard fruit and a racy, linear alpine acidity with a remarkably creamy, enveloping texture from extended aging on the fine lees, concluding in a long, dry finish defined by an elegant streak of salty marine minerality.
Food Pairing: Pairs flawlessly with delicate seafood appetizers, prosciutto di San Daniele, herb-infused risottos, roasted poultry, and soft, creamy cheeses.
