About the Schiavenza Barolo Perno
An elegant Barolo with red berries, orange peel, wild herbs, dried flowers, earth, and subtle spice. Balanced and mineral-driven, it combines vibrant acidity with silky tannins, refined structure, savory depth, and a persistent finish with excellent aging potential.
Food Pairing: Pair with truffle pasta, braised beef, wild game, roasted lamb, mushroom risotto, rich Piedmontese dishes, or aged cheeses.
95 Points - James Suckling
A complex and slightly evolved wine with blood oranges, leather, macerated flowers, balsamic and cinnamon aromas. Medium- to full-bodied, it shows ripe, dusty tannins and refreshing acidity, with an earthy, very savory aftertaste. A gastronomic wine. Try from 2017.
95 Points - Wine Spectator
Mint, orange and medicinal herb aromas and flavors define this succulent red, with accents of red berry fruit and earth lurking in the background. Starts out fluid but tightens up, with a broad swath of tannins gripping the finish. Best from 2029 through 2048. 393 cases made, 150 cases imported.
