Meticulously produced only in exceptional vintages from historic, old vines in the prestigious Rocche dell'Annunziata cru of La Morra, this highly acclaimed 2015 Riserva opens with a broad, aristocratic bouquet of ripe black currants, wild blackberries, and dried cherries. The multi-layered nose reveals stunning complexity, showing regional hallmarks of dried violets, eucalyptus, porcini mushrooms, and sweet baking spices seamlessly integrated with a classic touch of tar and cigar box from extended wood maturation. On the palate, it balances an amply fleshed, full-bodied dark fruit core and a vibrant, linear alpine acidity with muscular, tightly woven tannins, concluding in a remarkably powerful, never-ending finish defined by an elegant streak of iron-like minerality and savory earthiness.

It’s full-bodied with powerful tannins that come through the fantastic fruit. Lots to see and understand here, but it’s just opening now. One for the cellar. Try after 2025.
