Scarpetta Barbera del Monferrato

A magnificent Northern Italian red wine displaying a bright plum red color. Conceived through a collaboration with celebrated Monferrato winemaker Fabrizio Iulli, this classic expressions hails from the historical birthplace of the grape, where Barbera balances fruit and acidity without being marked by wood. The expressive nose opens with a charming bouquet of crushed wild berries, ripe red plums, and fresh violets, beautifully layered with distinctive regional characters of dried porcini mushrooms and damp tilled earth. On the palate, it balances a medium-bodied red fruit core and a vibrant, linear alpine acidity with low, supple tannins from 12 months of aging in neutral oak and cement vats, culminating in a wonderfully balanced, clean, and crisp dry finish.
