About the Vini Sassara Vin de Famea Veneto Rosso
A magnificent Northern Italian natural red wine displaying a lively, translucent ruby color. Masterfully crafted by biodynamic pioneers Alessia and Stefano Bertaiola on the morainic hills south of Lake Garda, this energetic "glou-glou" style wine is made using a traditional ancestral approach similar to the Ripasso method, passing the fermenting juice over the aromatic skins of a separate maceration. It opens with an ethereal, incredibly fresh bouquet of wild blackberries, sour red cherries, and crunchy pomegranates. The complex, rustic nose is beautifully supported by regional characteristics of wild thyme, fresh savory herbs, and damp forest floor. On the palate, it balances a light-bodied, mouthwatering red fruit core and a racy, linear alpine acidity with low, supple tannins, concluding in a remarkably clean, crunchy, and mineral-driven finish with zero added sulfur.
Food Pairing: Pairs flawlessly with traditional wild mushroom pasta, light pork stews, roasted duck breast, herb-roasted poultry, or assorted charcuterie platters.
