About the Cantine Sardus Pater Is Arenas Carignano del Sulcis Riserva
A magnificent Southern Italian red wine displaying a deep, concentrated ruby red color with subtle purple hues. Sourced from ancient, ungrafted bush vines up to 80 years old grown on the pure sandy dunes of Sant'Antioco island at sea level, this exceptional Riserva opens with an intense and captivating bouquet of ripe blackberries, black cherries, and plum jam. The complex, highly refined profile is beautifully layered with distinctive regional notes of wild myrtle, juniper, Mediterranean scrub, and warm baking spices derived from 10 to 12 months of careful maturation in fine French oak barriques. On the palate, it balances a full-bodied, enveloping dark fruit core and a well-regulated, refreshing acidity with noble, evolved tannins, culminating in a remarkably long, harmonious finish rich with savory, sea-salted mineral depth.
Food Pairing: Pairs flawlessly with oven-roasted lamb with rosemary, traditional Sardinian spit-roasted suckling pig (porceddu), wild boar stews, and long-aged pecorino cheeses.
