About the Sandro Fay Téi Rosso di Valtellina
A magnificent Northern Italian red wine displaying a light, brilliant ruby red color. Named after the local dialectal form for the nearby municipality of Teglio where the fruit is grown, this entry-level mountain expression serves as a pristine calling card to the estate's dramatic alpine terroir. The complex nose opens with an incredibly fresh and lifted bouquet of wild raspberries, sour red cherries, and crunchy pomegranates, beautifully layered with delicate regional hints of wildflowers, fresh-cut garden herbs, white pepper, and a touch of shaved cedar. On the palate, it balances a bright, light-to-medium-bodied red fruit core and a racy, linear mountain acidity with soft, fine-grained tannins, culminating in a crisp, remarkably clean, and mineral-driven finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs flawlessly with local cured bresaola, savory mushroom risottos, lighter tomato-based pasta dishes, and semi-aged Alpine cheeses.
