The 2018 San Polo Podernovi is a prestigious single-vineyard Brunello that highlights the unique microclimate of a 2.5-hectare plot characterized by manganese-rich clay soils. This organic vintage is renowned for its exceptional elegance and aromatic purity, offering a complex bouquet of ripe red currants, blackberries, and blue flowers, seamlessly integrated with notes of sandalwood, tobacco, and graphite. On the palate, the wine is medium-to-full-bodied and remarkably refined, showcasing a vibrant mineral core and fine-grained, velvety tannins. It is a highly expressive and balanced Sangiovese that prioritizes grace and longevity, reflecting the cooler, high-altitude character of the Podernovi site.

This adds a medium-heavy constitution and a good amount of warm-vintage fruit weight for a Sangiovese. The wine also has an accessible character that makes it best to drink over the next 10 years. The fruit represents a selection from over two hectares.
