Sourced from a south-facing plot planted at 450 meters above sea level on the unique microclimates of Montalcino, it opens with a breathtaking and highly expressive bouquet of unique dried flowers, sandalwood, and ripe black cherries, beautifully layered with slow-developing nuances of camphor, new leather, forest floor, and pipe tobacco. On the palate, it exhibits a full-bodied yet remarkably agile and weightless framework where a juicy, concentrated core of fleshy Morello cherry, steeped prune, and black raspberry is balanced by a vibrant vein of natural acidity. Maturation in large Slavonian and French oak barrels shapes fine, dusty tannins that float effortlessly across the mid-palate, guiding the wine into an incredibly long, savory finish highlighted by sweet baking spices, licorice, and a distinctively fresh mineral tension.
