San Polino Brunello Di Montalcino 2017 is an exceptionally elegant, complex, and full-bodied Tuscan red wine that beautifully manages the warmth of the 2017 vintage with classic structural balance. Crafted from hand-harvested, biodynamically grown grapes on the northern slopes of Montalcino, it opens with an inviting and multi-layered bouquet of dark plums, black cherries, and wild herbs, gracefully layered with tertiary hints of earthy black truffle, leather, tobacco smoke, and sweet spices. On the palate, it reveals a concentrated, muscular, yet remarkably agile mouthfeel where a succulent core of black-skinned fruits and raspberry jam is buttressed by a vibrant vein of refreshing natural acidity and fine, close-grained, velvety tannins. Matured traditionally in large Slavonian oak casks, it maintains a striking purity and focus, culminating in a long, lingering, and highly polished mineral-driven finish highlighted by a classic Sangiovese lift.
