San Marzano Edda Bianco Salento 2023 750ml

Made famous by Pinot Grigio, this region also produces a number of whites with structure, complexity, and enough body to hold up to the cooler winter temperatures. Such is the case for the San Marzano Edda Bianco an aromatic blend of Chardonnay, Moscatello Selvatico, and Fiano that is flat out amazing for the price. The Moscatello matches the Chardonnay in richness, and adds notes of citrus fruits and flowers while the Fiano gives acidity and minerality from the layers of calcareous soils which are the hallmarks of whites from Puglia. Straw yellow with goldish reflections; mellow floral notes, peach and delicate vanilla hints pervade the nose. Generous in its elegance, fresh, delicate and mineral.

The 2023 Cantine San Marzano Edda, a blend of 80% Chardonnay and 20% Muscat, presents a rich yellow hue and opens with aromas of dried earth, crushed stones, and a distinct mineral edge. On the palate, it is smooth and silky, offering tart citrus flavors that lead into a clean, dry finish. A graceful companion to Spigola al Sale, the Salento specialty of salt-baked sea bass, where delicate flavors and texture mirror the wine’s elegance and lift.
