About the Le Carillon d'Angelus Saint-Emilion 2022
Le Carillon d'Angelus Saint-Emilion is a refined Right Bank Bordeaux showing ripe black cherry, plum, raspberry, violet, cedar, and delicate spice. Silky tannins and fresh acidity frame generous fruit, while subtle savory and mineral nuances contribute complexity through an elegant, persistent finish.
Food Pairing: Pair with roast lamb, grilled beef, duck, veal, mushroom dishes, or aged cheeses for an elegant Right Bank Bordeaux pairing.
94 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Predominantly Merlot with 10% Cabernet Franc, this wine combines fine tannins with ripe, succulent black fruit. Rich and generous, the palate is lifted by fresh acidity and expressive berry flavors, while a subtle smoky character adds complexity and depth through the finish.
93 Points - James Suckling
Fresh basil and lemongrass aromas mingle with blackberry, dark plum and orange peel. Medium-bodied with velvety tannins, the palate is layered and polished, showing a creamy texture and impressive length. Lovely fruit carries through the elegant, well-structured finish. Drinkable now, but better after 2027.
