Marketed as a "Scottish Rye," it legally carries the designation of a Single Grain Scotch Whisky due to UK regulations, yet it acts as a direct, sophisticated challenger to North American rye whiskies. Crafted from a high-rye mashbill, the grains are finely ground using a hammer mill, mashed using a rare mash filter, and outdoor-fermented using a rye-specific yeast. It is then "precision distilled" in a custom Lomond Hill still—featuring copper bubble cap plates in the neck—before being matured exclusively in heavily charred, virgin American white oak barrels. The result is a texturally magnificent dram that bridges the gap between American spice and Scottish elegance.
