Rough Rider Straight Bourbon Whiskey

A spectacular, highly unique craft bourbon from Long Island Spirits in New York. Named in honor of Theodore Roosevelt and his legendary volunteer cavalry regiment, this high-rye bourbon features a mash bill of 60% corn, 35% winter rye, and 5% malted barley. After its initial aging in newly charred American white oak, it undergoes a phenomenal secondary maturation process where it is finished in French oak casks that previously held local Long Island Merlot. Bottled at 90 proof, this creates a brilliant, deeply complex flavor profile that beautifully balances spicy rye with dark, jammy wine notes.

NOSE

A complex and floral bouquet of dark cherry, ripe plum, warm caramel, and a hint of sweet vanilla.

PALATE

Smooth, rich, and highly layered. Peppery rye spice and toasted oak are beautifully softened by lush flavors of dark berry, milk chocolate, and sweet honey.

FINISH

Exceptionally smooth, long, and warming with lingering dark fruit and a gentle spice.
