About the Castello Romitorio Filo Di Seta Brunello di Montalcino Riserva
Castello Romitorio Filo di Seta Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is a rare, ultra-premium expression from a single vineyard located on the cooler, northwest side of Montalcino. The name "Filo di Seta" (Silk Thread) refers to a stream that flows near the vineyard, but also perfectly describes the wine’s signature elegance and refined texture. This Riserva is produced only in the most exceptional vintages and undergoes significantly longer aging than the standard bottling—typically 36 to 42 months in oak followed by nearly two years of bottle refinement before release.
On the nose, it offers a profound and evolving bouquet of black cherry, wild plum, and crushed violets, seamlessly layered with sophisticated notes of tobacco leaf, damp earth, and menthol. The palate is full-bodied and majestic, showcasing a dense core of dark fruit and pomegranate supported by a backbone of vibrant acidity and silky, fine-grained tannins. The finish is remarkably long and resonant, leaving a lingering impression of savory spice, mineral tension, and dried herbs.
