Caves d'Esclans Rock Angel Rosé 2024 is an exceptional, premium Provence rosé that stands as a more structured and sophisticated sibling to the globally renowned Whispering Angel. Crafted primarily from old-vine Grenache and Rolle (Vermentino) harvested early in the morning to lock in essential freshness, it undergoes optical eye sorting and a meticulous vinification process. Approximately 30% of the wine is fermented and aged in large 600-liter oak barrels (demi-muids) for six months with twice-weekly bâtonnage, while the remainder is handled in temperature-controlled stainless steel. This partial oak integration imparts a gorgeously rich, creamy texture and generous mouthfeel without adding overt oak flavors. In the glass, it shows a beautifully pale pink hue accompanied by an explosive bouquet of fresh redcurrants, frozen strawberries, dried apricots, and delicate floral and orange peel accents. The palate is dry, precise, and wonderfully energetic, effortlessly balancing vibrant stone fruit notes and crisp acidity with a complex layer of flinty, saline minerality that drives through to a long, silky, and powerful finish.
