About the Rivera Scariazzo Fiano Puglia
A magnificent Southern Italian white wine named after the traditional vaulted stone shelters used during seasonal sheep migrations across the historic Murgia hills. Displaying a deep straw yellow color with brilliant greenish reflections, this expressive bottling showcases how compelling the ancient Fiano grape becomes when grown in the sun-drenched terroir of northern Puglia. The highly complex nose opens with an intense, elegant bouquet of ripe yellow peaches, persimmons, and acacia flowers, masterfully layered with sophisticated notes of pineapple, chamomile, salted hazelnuts, and a distinct smoky minerality. To build texture and complexity, 20% of the wine is fermented in new Allier oak barriques while the remainder rests in stainless steel. On the medium-to-full-bodied palate, it beautifully balances a fleshy, mouth-filling orchard fruit core and an oily, rounded texture with a vibrant, measured acidity, carrying into a bone-dry, savory, and exceptionally long finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs flawlessly with elaborate seafood dishes, grilled Mediterranean white fish, roasted poultry, veal cutlets, and richer antipasti.
