About the Shelter Point Ripple Rock Canadian Single Malt Whisky
Shelter Point Ripple Rock Canadian Single Malt Whisky is a small-batch coastal single malt produced on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Inspired by the famous 1958 Ripple Rock explosion near Campbell River, it is distilled in traditional pot stills using 100% malted barley. Matured in ex-bourbon American oak barrels and finished in alligator-charred virgin oak casks, it delivers a rich, bold, and heavily spiced profile with signature coastal malty depth.
Food Pairing: Barbecue pork ribs, smoked beef brisket, aged cheddar cheese, dark chocolate fudge, or pecan pie.
Tasting Notes : Rich golden amber in color with a full, coating, and creamy mouthfeel.
Nose : Vanilla spice, toasted oak, rich caramel, dried raisins, and a subtle hint of dark chocolate.
Palate : Creamy caramel, raisins, warm baking spices including black pepper and clove, accompanied by sweet toffee and subtle barbecue notes.
Finish : Long, smooth, and warming with lingering notes of sweet toffee, dark chocolate, and spicy oak.
Serve : Serve neat at room temperature in a Glencairn tasting glass, or add a few drops of water to unlock its rich fruit and spice aromas.
