Domaine Amelie & Charles Sparr Altenbourg Riesling 2017 is a sophisticated, terroir-driven biodynamic white wine produced in the Alsace region of France. Sourced from old vines in the lieu-dit Altenbourg—situated just below the Grand Cru Furstentum on marly-limestone and sandstone soils—this dry Riesling undergoes slow, gentle pressing and spontaneous fermentation before aging on fine lees. In the glass, it displays a bright golden-yellow hue. The aromatic nose opens with refined scents of lime blossom, lime curd, candied lemon, and honeyed acacia, underlined by subtle petrol notes and stony minerality. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied and beautifully focused, delivering vibrant citrus flavors, ripe orchard fruit, and a chiseled, slate-driven acidity that leads to a long, refreshing, saline-inflected finish.
