Realms of Rye Release No. 01 Citrus Botanicals

Realms of Rye Release No. 01 “Citrus & Botanicals” is a limited-release 100% Canadian rye whisky from Sons of Vancouver Distillery in North Vancouver, British Columbia. Released in June 2024, it was matured in ex-Bourbon and new American oak casks and bottled at a robust 59.4% ABV. Despite its botanical-inspired flavour profile, the whisky contains no added flavourings or colourants; those characteristics come from fermentation, maturation and blending.

Food Pairing: Smoked salmon, roast pork, charcuterie, aged cheddar, orange-dark chocolate, toasted nuts and citrus desserts.

Tasting Notes: Orange zest, coriander seed, toasted clove, charred wood, menthol, black tea leaves and cane sugar.

Nose: Bright orange peel and citrus oils with coriander, herbal notes and sweet rye.

Palate: Bold rye spice accompanied by orange zest, toasted clove, black tea, raw sugar and charred oak.

Finish: Long and warming with citrus peel, peppery rye, menthol, tea and lingering oak.

Serve: Best enjoyed neat or with a small amount of water.
