About the Prunotto Barolo DOCG
Crafted in the heart of Piedmont, Italy, Prunotto Barolo DOCG is a benchmark expression of "The King of Wines and The Wine of Kings." Managed under the stewardship of the historic Antinori family since 1989, the Prunotto estate combines centuries-old winemaking traditions with modern precision. Sourced from choice vineyard sites across the famed communes of Barolo, Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga d'Alba, and La Morra, the vines thrive in well-draining, calcareous clay and marl soils. This diversity of microclimates and soil profiles grants the wine both structural grandeur and aromatic finesse. Fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with a maceration period on the skins, the wine is aged for approximately 24 months in large traditional oak casks (botti) followed by extended bottle aging. The result is an extraordinarily elegant, age-worthy red that captures the noble soul of Nebbiolo.
Food Pairing: Braised beef short ribs (Brasato al Barolo), roasted leg of lamb, wild boar ragù over tagliatelle, truffled mushroom risotto, slow-cooked game, and aged hard cheeses like Castelmagno or Parmigiano-Reggiano.
