About the Pongracz Brut Methode Cap Classique
Crafted in the Western Cape of South Africa, Pongrácz Brut is a iconic Méthode Cap Classique (MCC) sparkling wine made in the traditional champagne method. Named in honor of the legendary Hungarian viticulturist Desiderius Pongrácz, whose pioneering spirit transformed South African viticulture, this bottle is a classic blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Sourced from cool-climate vineyards, the grapes undergo secondary fermentation in the bottle and spend extended months maturing on their lees, developing rich complexity, fine effervescence, and elegant structural balance.
Food Pairing: Fresh oysters, smoked salmon, seafood ceviche, roast chicken, creamy cheeses, and buttered popcorn.
