Utilizing the exact same traditional base blend as the iconic Réserve Brut—composed of equal parts Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Chardonnay sourced from 30 renowned crus—it undergoes an identical initial vinification and ages for an extensive four years on its fine lees within the deep, subterranean chalk cellars of Épernay. The primary distinction lies in its generous dosage of 34 grams of residual sugar per liter, which is brilliantly integrated to complement rather than overwhelm. In the glass, it pours a beautiful, shimmering pale gold with a persistent and tight stream of microscopic bubbles. For a frankly off-dry champagne this has so much character and very good balance. A wide spectrum of candied citrus and dried white tree fruit aromas. Nice richness on the mid-palate without the sweetness ever taking the upper hand. The bright and energetic mousse really helps to keep this bright and straight at the lingering finish. Drink now.
