Pokeno Discovery Single Malt

Pōkeno Discovery New Zealand Single Malt Whisky is a rich and complex expression from Pōkeno Whisky Company in the Waikato. Made entirely from malted New Zealand barley, it combines parcels fully matured in first-fill bourbon, Oloroso sherry and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks before being married together. Bottled at 43% ABV, it offers dark chocolate, ripe cherry, dried fruit, sweet citrus, vanilla and warming spice.

Food Pairing: Roast duck, aged cheddar, dark chocolate, cherry desserts, fruitcake, roasted nuts, or rich caramel and citrus pastries.

Tasting Notes: Rich and fruity, combining dark chocolate and ripe cherries with dried fruit, sweet citrus, vanilla, caramel and warming spice.

Nose: Fruity and sweet, with cherries, dried figs, cocoa and caramelized fruit alongside subtle treacle and cinnamon.

Palate: Rich and layered, developing dark chocolate and cherry alongside vanilla, candied orange peel, dried fruit and warm spices.

Finish: Long and smooth, with lingering raisins, dark chocolate, citrus and gentle allspice.
