About the Plume Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Plume Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 is an elegant, smooth, and highly approachable Californian red wine crafted by the Stewart family—renowned for British Columbia's Quails' Gate Winery—through their West Coast Wine Partners venture. While the Plume label originally began in Napa Valley, this vintage is sourced from Sonoma County's acclaimed Alexander Valley, blending 87% Cabernet Sauvignon with small additions of Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Merlot to enhance its complexity. In the glass, it displays a deep, intense ruby-red hue. The inviting aromatic bouquet is plush and expressive, revealing rich notes of ripe cassis, dark plum, and wild blackberry, beautifully layered with nuances of sweet vanilla, mocha, pencil shavings, and a hint of fine tobacco. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied and beautifully balanced, offering a supple, fleshy texture. A generous core of dark fruit is supported by smooth, well-integrated tannins and a lively freshness, culminating in a velvety finish that leaves a lingering trace of spiced cocoa.
Food Pairing:
Pairs beautifully with grilled ribeye steak, hearty beef stews, herb-roasted lamb chops, savory mushroom burgers, and mature cheddar cheese.
