Planteray XO 20th Anniversary Amber Rum (formerly known as Plantation XO) is a world-renowned, exceptionally luxurious, and masterfully blended expression created to honor Master Blender Alexandre Gabriel's landmark two decades of spirits craftsmanship. Sourced from the sun-drenched island of Barbados, this elegant rum utilizes a time-honored "double aging" process to bridge exotic Caribbean intensity with sophisticated European refinement. It initially matures in the tropics for 8 to 15 years in traditional American white oak ex-bourbon casks before being shipped to the southwest of France. There, it undergoes a secondary finishing period of 2 to 10 years at Château de Bonbonnet in small French oak casks previously used to age premium Ferrand Cognac. It pours a beautiful, shimmering mahogany-amber hue in the glass, lifting with a spectacular and complex bouquet of toasted coconut, sugarcane, creamy vanilla, and cocoa, further complexed by undertones of candied orange peel, holiday baking spices, and old cigar box. On the palate, this rum is full-bodied, velvety, and fruit-forward, coating the mouth with sweet, rich flavors of milk chocolate, ripe banana, and fresh mango.
