About the Pithon-Paille Grololo Red
Crafted in the heart of the Anjou region in the Loire Valley, France, Pithon-Paillé "Grololo" Rouge is an iconic, highly vibrant natural red wine celebrated for its irresistible drinkability (glou-glou) and pure fruit expression. Produced by the acclaimed winemaking team of Jo Pithon and Isabelle Paillé, this cuvée is sourced from organically and biodynamically farmed vines rooted in rich schist, sandstone, and clay soils. Made primarily from Grolleau—an ancient, indigenous Loire grape variety known for its light body and electric acidity—blended with a small touch of Cabernet Franc, it undergoes gentle native yeast fermentation in stainless steel and neutral vats with minimal intervention. Unfined, light on filtration, and bottled with minimal added sulfur, Grololo captures the joyful, unadulterated spirit of natural Loire Valley winemaking.
Food Pairing: Charcuterie boards, roasted chicken, grilled sausages, pork tenderloin, wood-fired Margherita pizza, goat cheesecrostini, and light pasta dishes.
