About the Cantina Terlan Pinot Nero
Crafted in the high-altitude Alpine foothills of Alto Adige (Südtirol) in Northern Italy, Cantina Terlan Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir) is a crisp, highly elegant red wine showcasing the extreme freshness and mineral intensity of mountain viticulture. Sourced from steeply terraced hillside vineyards situated between 400 and 600 meters above sea level, the old-vine Pinot Noir thrives on volcanic porphyry, limestone, and sandy gravel soils. Benefiting from cool Alpine mountain winds paired with warm Mediterranean sunshine, the grapes achieve slow, balanced ripening while retaining vibrant natural acidity. Vinified using temperature-controlled stainless steel fermentation followed by slow aging in large oak casks (botti) and neutral barrels, it offers a distinctly Alpine, mineral-driven alternative to traditional Burgundian Pinot Noir.
Food Pairing: Pan-roasted duck breast, grilled salmon, roasted chicken with herbs, mushroom risotto, veal scaloppine, charcuterie boards, and soft artisan cheeses like Brie or mild Alpine cheeses.
