About the Pierre Ravaut Aloxe-Corton 'Vieilles Vignes' 2018
Pierre Ravaut Aloxe-Corton 'Vieilles Vignes' 2018 is an expressive, deeply structured red Burgundy sourced from old vines planted on the limestone and flint soils near the base of the Corton hill in Aloxe-Corton. In the glass, it presents a rich ruby hue with crimson reflections. The nose is generous and complex, featuring ripe aromas of dark cherry, wild strawberry, and plum, interwoven with delicate floral notes of violet, earth, and light oak spice. On the palate, it is medium- to full-bodied, delivering a concentrated core of dark fruit supported by firm, fine-grained tannins and a balanced natural acidity that leads to a savory, persistent finish.
Food Pairing: Pairs wonderfully with roasted duck breast, pan-seared beef tenderloin, grilled lamb chops, wild mushroom risotto, and washed-rind French cheeses like Époisses.
