About the Pierre Girardin Chevalier Montrachet Grand Cru 2022
Crafted in the famed Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy, France, Pierre Girardin Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru 2022 is a monumental white wine from one of the most venerated young winemaking talents in Burgundy. Pierre-Vincent Girardin—a 13th-generation vigneron—has rapidly risen to global fame for his ultra-precise, low-intervention approach that emphasizes tension, purity, and minimal wood impact. Sourced from Chevalier-Montrachet, situated on the steep, stony upper slopes directly above Le Montrachet, the vineyard's thin, chalky limestone soils impart an unmatched level of mineral drive and aromatic refinement. The exceptional 2022 vintage yielded perfectly balanced, hand-harvested Chardonnay fruit that was gently whole-cluster pressed using custom vertical presses, native yeast fermented, and aged in large 456-liter custom oak casks (pièces) to maintain crystalline freshness and terroir fidelity without excessive oak overlay.
Food Pairing: Pan-seared sea scallops with lemon-herb butter, butter-poached lobster, roasted Bresse chicken with truffle cream sauce, turbot in beurre blanc, and aged artisanal French cheeses like Comté.
