Piaggia Carmignano Riserva 2021 pours a deep, intense ruby red color with subtle purple shimmers in the glass. The bouquet is exceptionally expressive and layered, opening with aromas of ripe black cherries, dark plums, and wild blackberries, beautifully interwoven with complex secondary notes of dried flowers, sweet tobacco leaf, cocoa powder, and toasted cedar. On the palate, this full-bodied Tuscan red delivers an elegant, velvety, and mouth-coating texture. A concentrated core of mineral-inflected red and black fruits is masterfully balanced by a spine of vibrant, mouthwatering acidity and tightly woven, fine-grained tannins. Following 18 months of maturation in French oak barriques, it culminates in a remarkably long, persistent, and savory finish accented by hints of white pepper, dark chocolate, and balsamic cherry.

Food Pairing: Pairs perfectly with slow-braised wild boar ragù, grilled rosemary lamb chops, roasted game birds, or mature, hard artisanal cheeses like Pecorino.

Tense and juicy, with a full body and fine but tight tannins. Shows good fruit concentration and length. Very attractive combination of ripe fruit, spices and earthy notes. Better after 2026.
