About the Peter Wetzer Pinot Noir
Crafted by low-intervention artisan winemaker Peter Wetzer in the Sopron region of northwestern Hungary, this Pinot Noir is a delicate, elegant expression of cool-climate terroir near the Austrian border. Sourced from organically farmed vines rooted in limestone, slate, and mica soils, the grapes are harvested by hand to preserve ultimate freshness and purity. Fermented spontaneously with wild indigenous yeasts in open wooden vats and aged gracefully in neutral Hungarian oak casks, it is bottled unfined and unfiltered with minimal sulfur additions.
Food Pairing: Duck breast with cranberry reduction, roasted salmon, seared pork tenderloin, mushroom risotto, and soft-ripened cheeses like Brie or Camembert.
