Penelope American Light 17 Year Old

Penelope American Light Whiskey 17 Year Old is a limited-release American light whiskey distilled in 2006 at the historic Seagram’s distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, now Ross & Squibb Distillery. Aged for 17 years in second-fill oak barrels and bottled at cask strength, it delivers an intensely sweet and confectionary profile of butterscotch, vanilla, cake batter and cotton candy, layered with brown sugar, orchard fruit, toasted oak and cinnamon spice.

Food Pairing: Pecan pie, crème brûlée, vanilla ice cream, caramel desserts, aged cheddar, roasted nuts, or dark chocolate.

Tasting Notes: Intensely sweet and dessert-like, combining butterscotch, vanilla and brown sugar with orchard fruit, cinnamon, toasted oak and confectionery sweetness.

Nose: Butterscotch, cake batter and cotton candy lead into caramelized corn, vanilla wafer, strawberry and toasted oak.

Palate: Rich and silky, with crème brûlée, cinnamon frosting, sweet corn and vanilla followed by gentle mature oak.

Finish: Long and sweet, with toffee, trail mix, light oak, cinnamon spice and lingering confectioners’ sugar.

Serve: Enjoy neat in a Glencairn or tulip glass; a few drops of water can help soften the high proof and reveal additional vanilla and confectionary notes.
