About the Chateau d'Armailhac 2015
A classic Pauillac showing blackcurrant, blackberry, cedar, graphite, violet, and subtle spice. Cabernet-led fruit combines with robust yet refined tannins and elegant structure, creating a complex Bordeaux red with excellent depth, balance, freshness, and considerable aging potential.
Food Pairing: Pair with roast beef, lamb, venison, grilled steak, braised meats, mushrooms, hearty stews, or mature cheeses.
93 Points - Decanter
Softening beautifully with bottle age, the 2015 Chateau d'Armailhac is becoming increasingly juicy and approachable. Delicately structured and highly enjoyable, the palate retains classic Pauillac character through distinctive menthol and slate nuances. Balanced and expressive, it shows an appealing combination of refinement, freshness and developing richness.
93 Points - James Suckling
Dusty plum and berry aromas mingle with fine tobacco and dried earth. Medium- to full-bodied, the palate is framed by firm, fine-grained tannins and impressive balance, carrying its fruit and savory complexity into a long, scented finish. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot.
92 Points - Jeb Dunnuck
Ripe and generously styled, the 2015 Chateau d'Armailhac offers cassis, pencil shavings, spice and roasted herbs. Medium- to full-bodied with impressive depth and concentration, the palate remains balanced and structured, combining ripe fruit with classic Pauillac character and considerable aging potential.
92 Points - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Composed of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, this wine combines exotic spice and potpourri with preserved black and red cherries, wild blueberries and subtle tar. Medium- to full-bodied, it delivers juicy dark fruit, approachable grainy tannins and excellent freshness through the finish.
92 Points - Wine Enthusiast
Firm and classically Pauillac, this wine emphasizes black currant fruit and vibrant acidity. Present tannins provide structure behind its bright fruit and crisp texture, while a dry, tightly wound core points toward further development and integration with bottle age. Best from 2025 onward.
92 Points - Wine Spectator
Plum and black currant fruit form the core, framed by singed vanilla and alder. Tobacco and violet nuances add complexity, while a fine-edged chalky structure provides definition and precision through the persistent finish.
