About the Paolo Conterno Langhe Arneis A Val
Paolo Conterno "A Val" Langhe Arneis is a fresh, highly aromatic white wine crafted by a legendary Barolo producer. Sourced from 30-year-old vines grown on the steep, sandy-calcareous hillsides of the Roero area—universally recognized as the native birthplace of the Arneis variety—it serves as a vibrant expression of Piedmont’s premier white grape. To ensure maximum purity of the fruit, the wine undergoes static cold decantation and temperature-controlled fermentation entirely in stainless steel tanks, avoiding any wood contact. In the glass, it displays a straw-yellow color with delicate greenish reflections. The nose is highly fragrant and lifted, unwinding with pretty notes of white peach, crisp green apples, and lemon zest, seamlessly interwoven with chamomile, jasmine, and a touch of wet stone minerality. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, crisp, and vertical; its core of juicy orchard fruit is carried by a driving, mouth-watering line of natural acidity, finishing clean and dry with a pleasant touch of bitter almond and lemon pith.
Food Pairing: Freshly steamed shellfish, creamy seafood risotto, pasta Alfredo, roasted chicken, or goat cheese crostini.
