About the Paolo Bea Arboreus Umbria Bianco 2018
Crafted in the heart of Umbria, Italy, Paolo Bea Arboreus 2018 is an iconic, highly revered skin-contact orange wine produced by legendary natural winemaking master Paolo Bea and his son Giampiero. Named after the ancient arboreus training system—where century-old, pre-phylloxera Trebbiano Spoletino vines wrap around oak trees to grow high off the ground—this cuvée represents a rare piece of living agricultural history. The hand-harvested grapes undergo an extended maceration on their skins for over three weeks in stainless steel tanks, followed by prolonged aging on the fine lees in steel and neutral oak barrels without temperature control, fining, or filtration, capturing the purest essence of Umbrian terroir.
Food Pairing: Roasted pork belly, grilled duck, tagines with dried fruits, aged Pecorino cheese, roasted root vegetables, and rich mushroom dishes.
