About the Hunter Laing Old Malt Cask Fettercairn 13 Year Old 2008 #HL19420
Hunter Laing Old Malt Cask Fettercairn 13 Year Old 2008 #HL19420 was distilled at Fettercairn in April 2008 and independently bottled by Hunter Laing in April 2022 as part of its Old Malt Cask collection. Matured for 13 years in a single ex-bourbon cask, this Highland single malt offers bright citrus, sweet malted barley, creamy vanilla and gentle oak spice. Bottled at 50% ABV without chill filtration, this limited release produced just 122 bottles.
Food Pairing: Aged cheddar, roasted almonds, honey-glazed chicken, lemon shortbread, apple tart or vanilla crème brûlée.
Tasting Notes: Bright orange, lemon zest, sweet malt, creamy vanilla, orchard fruit and warming oak spice.
Nose: Fresh orange, lemon zest and malted barley, complemented by delicate cereal sweetness.
Palate: Rich and rounded, with sweet barley, honeyed fruit, creamy vanilla, citrus and gentle oak.
Finish: Long and lively, with lingering orange zest, vanilla sweetness and peppery spice.
Serve: Enjoy neat in a Glencairn glass, allowing the citrus and malt aromas to develop. Add a few drops of water if desired.
