About the Old Particular Craigellachie 15 Year Old 2006
Drawn from a single sherry butt, unchillfiltered, no coloring, no dilution. This is Craigellachie’s malt in its rawest, most expressive form. Douglas Laing’s Old Particular series is all about individuality, and this bottle is unapologetically full of it.
Old Particular releases are coveted for their rarity and purity. With only a few hundred bottles pulled from the cask, this 15 year old Craigellachie is a standout for its sherry bomb intensity and Speyside grit.
Nose: A blast of dark fruit and spice, black cherries, clove, and leather-bound books. There’s a whiff of cigar box and old sherry cellars.
Palate: Viscous, powerful, and brooding. Black forest cake, spiced plums, and walnut oil dominate, followed by bitter chocolate and a faint sulphuric touch that fans of sherried malts crave.
Finish: Long and gripping. Bold oak tannins, burnt orange zest, and espresso bitterness linger with serious authority.
