About the Hunter Laing Old Malt Cask Braeval 14 Year Old #HL21311
Hunter Laing Old Malt Cask Braeval 14 Year Old is a limited-release Speyside single malt Scotch whisky distilled in 2009 and bottled at 50% ABV. Matured for 14 years in a single refill Sherry butt, this expression combines the distillery's delicate fruit character with gentle cask richness. Aromas of salted caramel, bright citrus and fresh hay lead to creamy vanilla, nutmeg and golden raisins, followed by a long, subtly savoury finish. Bottled without chill filtration or added colouring, only 577 bottles were produced.
Food Pairing: Salted caramel desserts, pecan pie, vanilla sponge cake, roasted almonds, aged Gouda, orange shortbread or fruitcake.
Tasting Notes: Delicately sweet and aromatic, with salted caramel, citrus, vanilla, nutmeg, dried grapes and a touch of savoury oak.
Nose: Salted caramel, fresh citrus fruits and soft grassy hay.
Palate: Creamy vanilla sponge, warming nutmeg and sweet sultanas.
Finish: Long and gently savoury, with lingering fruit sweetness and delicate spice.
Serve: Enjoy neat in a Glencairn glass or add a few drops of water to reveal additional citrus and vanilla notes.
