Old Forester 1924 10 Year Old 100 Proof Whiskey Row Series Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Old Forester 1924 10 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is the fifth release in the distillery's acclaimed Whiskey Row Series, bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV). This expression pays homage to a historical event during Prohibition when Old Forester acquired barrels from closed distilleries to continue bottling medicinal whiskey. Uniquely distinct from Old Forester’s standard recipe, it features a special mashbill of 79% corn, 11% rye, and 10% malted barley. Aged for a full decade in new charred oak barrels, this bourbon yields a rich, complex profile defined by notes of dark fudge, marzipan, cinnamon spice, graham cracker, and seasoned oak.

Food Pairing: Pairs exceptionally well with braised beef short ribs, dark chocolate tarts, pecan pie, smoked Gouda, and charcuterie featuring cured meats and fig jam.

Tasting Notes: A decadent and mature 10-year-old bourbon presenting a rich harmonisation of soft cocoa, cinnamon-dusted graham cracker, marzipan, and warm oak.

Nose: Soft notes of fudge, rich cocoa, marzipan, and cured tobacco, balanced by warm cinnamon spice and seasoned oak.

Palate: Full-bodied and layered with flavours of chocolate-covered graham crackers, sweet vanilla, toasted baking spices, and subtle dark stone fruits.

Finish: Long and warming with lingering notes of baking spice, dark cocoa, dry oak, and graham cracker crumbles.

Serve: Enjoy neat in a Glencairn glass, with a drop of room-temperature water, or over a single large ice cube.
