About the Olivier Leflaive Chassagne-Montrachet 1Er Cru Clos Saint-Marc Domaine 2022
Crafted in the famed Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy, France, Olivier Leflaive Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Clos Saint-Marc" Domaine 2022 is an exceptional premier cru white wine from a highly prized, walled vineyard (clos). Sourced from estate-owned (Récolte du Domaine) vines within Clos Saint-Marc—a historic, high-altitude enclave inside the Premier Cru Les Vergers—the site features shallow, rocky limestone soils over a hard bathonian limestone bed. This unique terroir imparts a distinctive, laser-like mineral precision to the wine. The stellar 2022 vintage provided ideal ripening conditions, producing hand-harvested Chardonnay that underwent gentle whole-cluster pressing, ambient yeast fermentation, and approximately 18 months of aging in fine French oak barrels with periodic lees stirring (bâtonnage).
Food Pairing: Butter-poached lobster, pan-seared sea bass, roasted poultry with cream sauce, seared scallops, wild mushroom risotto, and aged goat cheeses or Comté.
