Olivier Leflaive Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru Domaine 2022

Crafted in the famed Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy, France, Olivier Leflaive Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru Domaine 2022 is a masterpiece of white winemaking from one of the most prestigious Grand Cru vineyards on earth. Sourced exclusively from estate-owned (Récolte du Domaine) parcels situated at the base of Montrachet on deep limestone and clay-rich soils, this wine captures the power, depth, and opulence for which Bâtard-Montrachet is world-renowned. The 2022 vintage yielded exceptional, perfectly balanced Chardonnay fruit that was hand-harvested, gently whole-cluster pressed, and fermented in French oak barrels. Aged for up to 18 months in French oak barriques (including a refined selection of new oak) with gentle lees stirring, it embodies the ultimate fusion of richness, precision, and terroir-driven minerality.

Food Pairing: Pan-seared sea scallops with truffle butter, butter-poached lobster, roasted capon, turbot in beurre blanc sauce, veal sweetbreads, and aged French cheeses like Époisses or Comté.

96 Points - James Suckling

One of Olivier Leflaive's top wines, harvested from vines owned by the firm. It has all the great concentration that Batard promises, balanced by lively, citrus acidity for a memorable and appetizing expression. So pure and focused on the palate and long in the finish. Medium- to full-bodied. Will age well for decades. Best after 2028.
