The distillery name Williamson is becoming more popular when buying independently bottled Laphroaig. This is to help conceal the distilleries identity. The use of the name Williamson is a tribute to the first female Scotch whisky distillery manager, Bessie Williamson, who also worked at Laphroaig for some time, steering the brand to success in the US before and after World War II. Distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2023 after 11 years maturing in a single Pedro Ximenez Hogshead. Bottled at 56.4% ABV.
