About the Nixta Licor de Elote Corn Liqueur
Nixta Licor de Elote (Nixta Corn Liqueur) is a Mexican craft liqueur produced at Destilería y Abasolo in Jilotepec, State of Mexico. Made from 100% ancestral Cacahuazintle corn, it combines a base of nixtamalized corn spirit with a sweet corn wort reduction. It delivers an authentic, sweet, and savory profile that showcases the deep heritage of native Mexican corn.
Food Pairing: Tres leches cake, churros with cajeta, cornbread, dark chocolate desserts, vanilla ice cream, aged gouda, and roasted pork belly.
Tasting Notes : Deep straw-amber in color, offering a rich, smooth, and velvety mouthfeel with a pleasant coating sweetness.
Nose : Freshly roasted sweet corn, toasted corn husks, warm vanilla, salted caramel, and subtle baking spice.
Palate : Sweet and creamy notes of buttered sweet corn, corn pudding, caramel, honey, and subtle toasted grain undertones.
Finish : Medium to long, warm, and sweet with lingering notes of roasted corn, vanilla, and gentle toasted grain spice.
Serve : Enjoy neat, over a large ice cube, or as a unique modifier in cocktails like an Old Fashioned, Carajillo, or Mexican Sour.
