About the Nikka Super Rare Old Japanese Whisky
Nikka Super Rare Old Japanese Whisky is a classic blended whisky created in 1962 by Nikka founder Masataka Taketsuru. Combining malt whiskies from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries along with grain whiskies, this iconic expression delivers a harmonious and well-rounded profile featuring gentle peatiness, soft vanilla, honeyed malt, and subtle sherry wood influences.
Food Pairing: Teriyaki salmon, yakitori, sushi, smoked meats, roasted nuts, or light citrus desserts.
Tasting Notes : Medium amber in appearance with a smooth, well-balanced, and velvety mouthfeel.
Nose : Gentle honey, sweet caramel, fresh orchard fruit, vanilla, and a touch of light, herbal peat smoke.
Palate : Creamy malt sweetness, toasted oak, yellow apple, subtle baking spices, and a delicate touch of citrus zest.
Finish : Smooth and medium-length with lingering notes of gentle oak spice, dark chocolate, and soft vanilla warmth.
Serve : Serve neat, on the rocks, or as a traditional Japanese Highball topped with sparkling water and a twist of lemon peel.
